Started writing at primary school. Went to twelve schools as I evacuated during the war and moved around quite a bit. Always loved reading. 'Keep an eye on the cakes in the oven' was a favourite saying when I was left in charge of the house, curled up with a book. Failed 11+ loved secondary modern, cooking, sewing etc. made good friends. Later trained as a shorthand-typist; joined the Women's Royal Naval Service; got married; had a son. Resumed full-time office work. Joined feminist group; wrote poetry. Did a correspondence course in children's writing. Retired and went to Ruskin College, Oxford studying English. Joined a writers' group. Volunteer for MIND. Developed local grass-roots drama. Share a flat with a woman friend of thirty years. Extended and own family. First novel produced 2014 on feedaread, Amazon and Kindle. Whooh!

Poems, prose, plays and a novel.

The domestic scene.

Swimming. Tai-chi.

Lorna Doone.

Who are your favourite writers?

Charles Dickens, Margaret Atwood and Martin Amis.

Where is your dream location?

In our caravan.

What one item would you put into Room 101?

Junk mail.

Do you have any advice for new writers?

Keep writing.
