Christine Hill

I was born in Tynemouth, Northumberland and lived in Whitley Bay until I married in 1968. I was married for 38 years and sadly my wonderful husband passed away in 2006. We had twin baby girls born very prematurely but miraculously they survived and are now adults with their own families. We also have a son and it is my experience of life in bringing up three children and working in a medical environment first as a nurse and then as a manager in general practice that has given me much food for thought for my writing. I began my writing career when I was still a child at home, making up stories for my younger brother and then during my time working as a mothers help when I was sixteen, I made up stories for all the children I looked after. And so into adulthood when I began to write my stories down. During my time bringing up my children I did not have a lot of time to devote to writing but after the death of my husband I resumed writing and plucked up the courage to join a writers group. Most of my writing has been either for children or fiction for magazines, mostly short stories about life relating to my experiences but currently I am aiming to expand into other areas. Writing has always been a big part of my life and probably will continue to be so.
