Born on the Scottish Border, I was brought up in West Africa before spending my teenage years as a school boy, art student and building labourer in Bristol England. In East Africa in my twenties, I was a prospector, surveyor, accountant, hotelier, mechanic, cotton ginner and tobacco processor. I married Dineen and settled back in England. Work as a shop owner, unemployed labourer, salesman and garage mechanic followed, before twenty three years with the Ministry of Defence. I am now a full time artist, writer and couch potato.
