Thank you for taking the time to view my work. My name is KR Svich and I am a twenty-three year-old recent graduate of the University of Sydney. I now live and work in Japan where my job is in international sales and marketing of energy systems for the Southeast Asian region. My passion for literature began at and early age and I particularly enjoy reading and writing fiction of the speculative, fantasy, gothic and noir crime genres.

When did you start writing?

2002 Sydney, Australia

What do you love about Short Stories?

I enjoy the accessibility and flexibility they offer in comparison with a full length novel. This is something I have come to appreciate much more now that I work full time, and now more often than not, I am reading a short story while riding the morning Japanse rush hour train to work.

Do you write in other forms?

I am in the process of editing my first full-length novel manuscript. The story itself is one that has constantly evolved in my head since age fourteen, and originally I had intended to create as a graphic novel. However I decided that a traditional novel would be the most effective medium for the way I wanted to tell this story and it has been interesting to see the final form of the orginal characters as I write them, now in my twenties.

What distracts you from writing?

Graduating university and starting a busy work schedule can leave me with limted free time. Yet at the same time, I have picked up much better time management skills, a lack of which in the past has caused a hindrance to me writing.

Outside of writing, what are your other passions?

Kendo (Japanese fencing), running

What is your favourite book?

The Picture of Dorian Gray

Who are your favourite writers?

Oscar Wilde, J.R.R Tolkien and Naoki Hyakuta (best seller in Japan for his historical novels set during the Second and First World

Where is your dream location?

My next travel aim is a white Christmas in Berlin.

What one item would you put into Room 101?

Would probably still stick with the rats.

Do you have any advice for new writers?

Likely a cliche, but I believe constsnt persistence will always be the key.
