Lynn Todd

I live in East Sussex with my Australian husband and one chinchilla. We have two grown up children and returned to England sixteen years ago after spending fourteen years down under. I am a Christian and an active member of a local church.

I enjoy writing short stories but do aspire to producing a novel. I like fiddling around with a variety of arts and crafts and particularly enjoy patchwork and cake decorating, both done with great gusto and very little talent! I am trying my hand at children's stories.

What do you love about short stories?

They can be challenging to write and fun to read.

Do you write in other forms?

Poetry.

What distracts you from writing?

I'm easily distracted by everyday things such as does anyone need feeding! I sometimes feel guilty just sitting around writing, especially as it is so enjoyable.

Outside of writing, what are your other passions?

Baking, sewing, reading and being outside (when it's dry).

What is your favourite book?

The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared.

Who are your favourite writers?

Maeve Binchey, Jonas Jonasson and Adrian Plass.

Where is your dream location?

Somewhere by the sea, whatever the weather.

What one item would you put into Room 101?

Sticky labels that don't peel off in one piece, especially when they are stuck on the front of a book.

Do you have any advice for new writers?

Write, get the words on the paper and worry about grammar etc once the story is written, and enjoy yourself.
