I have been a reader of fiction since early childhood and often thought, like most people, 'I could do that', without realising how difficult it is. My chance to try came when I retired, having worked as a Business Consultant, in Professional Football amongst other things. Because I read and admire LeCarre, Deighton and Phillip Kerr, my stories tend to be about espionage and crime, hopefully with a bit of humour and a twist at the end. Living by the coast in North Essex gives me the opportunity for walks and cycle rides by the sea, which can be a great source of inspiration. I still take a keen interest in all forms of sport and enjoy films and the theatre.
