I've always been passionate about short stories, because they're such small contained worlds where both the writer and the reader can focus on whoever, wherever or whatever the 'magnifying glass' of their imaginations is trained. The first things I wrote were poetry. I moved on to comedy sketches for television, drama for theatre and radio, television drama series and short stories for magazines. My work has been published and produced in the UK and internationally and in 2002 I was one of the winners of the BBC Five Writers for Liverpool competition and went on to write for Eastenders and Doctors (UK drama series) I enjoy writing most genres from very dark psychological thrillers to light hearted comedy and everything in between. I'm currently working on a children's novel, which has also been developed as a screenplay with funding from the UK Film Council.
