My writing is not a hobby; it's something I have to do, like breathing or eating. I'm not really happy unless I'm writing something, whether it's a blog post, poetry, endless stories, or articles. Fantasy is my genre of choice, but I'm learning gradually that instead of epic adventures on grand scales, the real achievement lies in creating genuine, believable characters who interact in natural ways. I love editing other people's work as well; I've been a 'grammar Nazi' since I was young and I cannot stand to read badly written work! My own writing style is simplistic, and often I wish I was capable of more, but I still have a long way to go before I can write that 'great novel' that we all dream about...

Do you write in other forms?I'm always working on some novel-length work or other. They are rarely finished, but it's good practice to keep a story and characters in play over a long period of time. I also write poetry... when the mood takes me!

Do you have any advice for new writers?Keep writing! Always keep writing. Go back and read your old work to inspire yourself. Note down ideas, even if you don't go back to them for years. And don't become discouraged, even when it's hard.
