Denice Penrose
Denice was born in Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, and grew up during the Rhodesian Bush War years, In 1982, she moved to South Africa, where her checkered career included working as Lecturer, Librarian, Personal Administrator, Book Keeper, English Teacher and School Librarian. She and her husband, Ron, moved to the UK in 2003.
Denice’s main passions are for writing, and her four furry tyrants: a pedigree Somali—Raider, Terri the Bengal and two moggy babies KC and Sooty. Her interests are wide ranging, from crafts such as Cake Decorating & Sugarcraft, cooking & entertaining, sewing, tapestry, hiking, Her reading tastes are varied and eclectic.
Denice has a Bachelors degree majoring in English, Psychology and Library Science, and a second degree in Theology, and an Msc in Library and Information Science. She has completed several writing courses, as well as vocational courses, including counseling, First Aider, and has a teaching diploma.
Denice has traveled extensively in Africa, particularly in Tanzania, Namibia, South Africa, and the island of Zanzibar. She believes that wide ranging experiences and interests are invaluable for any writer.
Her writing reflects her wide range of interests. She has written articles for local newspapers and journals. She has had several short stories published in print and online, including in anthologies on sale with Amazon. She has written a novel and children’s books, which she is submitting for publication.
