Emma Timpany

Emma was born and grew up in Dunedin, in the far south of New Zealand. She currently lives in Cornwall. Her award-winning stories have been published in a pamphlet, Over The Dam, (Red Squirrel Press, 2015) and a collection, The Lost of Syros, (Cultured Llama Press, 2015). As well as writing short stories, she is also one of the organisers of Falmouth-based live literature event, Telltales, and runs regular word and image creative workshops in West Cornwall.

What do you love about short stories?

I love short stories because of their ability to become more than the sum of their parts

Novel and poetry

What distracts you from writing?

I've learnt to make the most of the limited writing time available to me

Reading, walking and swimming in the sea
