Annette O. Liron
My love of reading began with a copy of Wind in the Willows. One of many books given to me for my seventh birthday. Magical. Reading has always been one of my greatest pleasures. The urge to write was a constant force in my life. Unfortunately, the need to have a career and earn a decent living, necessitated my dream being put on hold. Blogging-sites, websites, e-books, writing for online magazines, self-publishing...all destined to the future. A long, successful career in beauty and fashion although fulfilling, the urge to write remained as strong as ever. I was forever writing in my head and filling notebooks with ideas for short stories and articles. In my early fifties, I decided on the now-or-never approach and signed up for a writing correspondence course. The best thing I ever did. Within a matter of weeks, I had sold my first article. The rest, as they say, is history. My career as a successful freelance writer took off. My CV includes writing for international magazines, newspapers and eventually the deputy editorship for a glossy magazine. I taught creative writing for five years, something I really enjoyed. I have decided to scale back on the freelance side of writing and concentrate on short stories and flash fiction. In additions to writing, my passions are travel, music, the performing arts, cooking, history.
