Janna Grace

Janna reads when she brushes her teeth and writes in her sleep. When she couldn't find a literary magazine with the types of works she wanted to read, she created her own, which can be found at Lamplitunderground.com. She is a professor by day, beer geek by night and writer in between. When she wasn't traveling, she received a BA in English Literature and a BS in Psychology from the University of Mary Washington. After a bit more wandering, Janna moved to Wales to receive her MA in Creative Writing at Cardiff University.

Janna's poetry and short stories have been published in Plastik Magazine, The Bitchin' Kitsch and Quail Bell, among others and one of her poems was just featured on a tote bag to support the arts in Wales through Made in Roath. Janna participates in open mic performances across the United States and turns to poetry, short story and literature even in her English as a Second Language classes and workshops with homeless teens. Some of her recent poems are currently being adapted to music.

She loves the dark in lamplight, folklore and travel and is working on her first chapbook. Janna recently moved to NYC with her dog Bogart and her cat Myrna to join her partner Andrew. She is taking a semester off from teaching at Virginia Commonwealth University to explore New York's Alphabet City. Here, she is working on her first novel and as a freelance writer while she plans another international move.
