Arlene Pearson

Arlene Pearson is a writer of novels, blogs and plays.

She has been writing for several years and obtained an M.A. Degree in Creative Writing with Credit from Northumbria University in 2006.

She has published numerous articles and short stories in local newspapers and magazines as well as writing an on line column and blog entitled ‘2.4 Children’ for the Sunday Sun publication for many years.

She has co-written a book of poetry entitled ‘Northbound’ in which she attempted to capture in verse just some of the many and varied cultural delights of the outstanding North East region.

She has also written several scripts and is a member of ‘Live Theatre Writers Group’ in Newcastle upon Tyne. Some of her plays have been performed ‘script in hand’ at Park View Theatre, Chester-le-Street, by a local theatre company.

She has also recently been accepted onto the Romantic Novelists Association's New Writers Scheme and is looking forward to receiving feedback on her latest novel, 'Where the Four Streams Meet.'

She lives in the small North East village of Penshaw and writes with a view of Penshaw Monument from one window and Durham Cathedral from another, with a crazy cockatiel who can whistle ‘The Great Escape’ and the ‘Laurel and Hardy’ theme tune for company.

Where the Four Winds Meet is the first novella in a Trilogy. This story reveals the emotional journey through time of one man as he tries to discover how his biological father really died. ‘I’m fifty-two years old and today I saw a picture of my father for the very first time. Can you imagine how that feels?’ Bobby is about to open Pandora’s Box to unlock the secrets of his past – but is he prepared for the turbulent secrets which are about to be revealed about his biological father? ‘You know when I was in Germany? A woman came to me and she said, “‘Your husband’s given me a baby as well.’” How will the two immensely different scenarios, one good, one bad, impact upon the present and especially upon his two sons, a moody wannabe rock star and a ghostbuster who falls for a mental medium? ‘He was a wonderful man you know, your father. Such a lovely brother to have.’ Bobby uncovers what he believes is the truth and resolves to let the past go – until it surfaces once more to haunt him.
