I’m an East Midland’s writer who took up the challenge of writing, having completed a Certificate in Creative Writing at Lancaster University. In 2009, after twenty years supporting literacy in schools, I wrote my debut novel for young adults. Get Over It, adventures were published by Onwards and Upwards. That sensitively covered adjustment to life without Mum.
Before that, my prize-winning short story, Off the Beaten Track, was published on the web. It raised awareness of child abuse. I’m passionate about contemporary issues. This was recently published in an ebook anthology of short stories, called The Heavenly Road Trip with Help For Writers. The remaining stories are hopeful and futuristic.
For 2010, brought a Unique Writing Publications Short Story win with some prose non fiction entitled Love ( a cathartic tale for adults about surviving a miscarriage). Now in an American anthology called Spiritual Awakenings. I have performed at festivals.
From delivering creative writing workshops in schools, I’ve branched out into lifelong learning as a practitioner. For the last few years I’ve enjoyed tutoring at Embrace Arts, Leicester University. I’m a foundation 1st Relational Dynamic coach. At present, I’m pitching a couple more YA novels. With the Writing in Education magazine, I’ve also had a couple of creative writing pedagogy articles published.
Recently, I self published a children’s booklet to commemorate the Centenary called ‘Great War Winners.’
Excitingly for 2015, I contributed to Leicester’s KLiCbait Volume 2 anthology with a story called ‘The Real Me’ telling of a fictional student’s experience.
In April, I read at the Writing for Liberty Conference at Lancaster University.
Some poetry of mine was published in 2016. 'Our Picasso Dish' is included in 'Welcome to Leicester', Dahlia Publishing.

This is a coming of age tale of Yuliya which raises awareness of child abuse in Eastern Europe. Young Yuliya prays daily for deliverance from her life of servitude to her family. She dreams of going to college and one day marrying Branimir - a gypsy youth. But when her father's debts are due, he arranges for her to be taken by his unsavory associates as payment of those debts. Her mother calls upon Branimir and his family and it is with them that Yuliya's prayers are answered.
