I live and work in Sheffield where I'm currently studying for an MA Writing at Sheffield Hallam University. I see human beings as story tellers. It's part of the deal. And stories can take many forms. I don't always use prose but see it as an option when I can't make the words do what I want using other types of writing. But from a haiku to the Iliad it's all storytelling.

What do you love about short stories?

Short stories are a challenge for their economy of language and the need to balance narrative with the desire to create tension.

I mainly write poetry.
